The Alliance for Global Inclusion Annual Report

When we think about the current diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) challenges global leaders face, there seem to be too many to count.

The pandemic has caused unprecedented societal, economic, business, and technology challenges. We continue to navigate global social unrest. Hiring freezes and layoffs will impact efforts to build a more diverse workforce. The rise of Artificial Intelligence raises concerns about bias, and offensive terminology in technology persists.

We hope this report provides insights into the good work of the Alliance for Global Inclusion to accelerate the adoption of inclusive business practices.

We are grateful for the hard work of our current partners and invite others to join us in using our collective strengths and capabilities to create positive change for our people, our markets, and society.

Let’s be bold and truly transformational together.

Our Growth and Collective Impact

The Alliance for Global Inclusion is a one-of-a-kind coalition founded by industry peers, committed to helping build an equitable and just tomorrow.

Because partner companies have the same goals and face many of the same challenges, we know collaborating and combining the collective power and resources of our global organizations provides the most promising path to respond to global DEI challenges.

Progress on Our Initiatives

Through the Alliance for Global Inclusion, global DEI leaders come together to build a living resource library based on effective practices and lessons learned at our partner companies.

Each partner directly contributes to these resources by participating in workstreams focused on shared priorities across three impact pillars: People, Market, and Society.

Thanks to the hard work of our Alliance partners, we are pleased to highlight these recent accomplishments:

Updated 2023 Goals

Based on findings from the 2022 Global Inclusion Index Survey, the Alliance published updated goals for 2023 focused on three pillars: People, Markets and Society. Inclusive language is now embedded in all the work we do.

Global Inclusion Index Survey

Published 12 key findings and the full report from our sponsored annual cross-industry survey that measures progress toward DEI goals.

CEO Commitments

During the inaugural Alliance convening, CEOs, Chief HR/People Officers and CDIOs, made commitments for staff to complete inclusive leadership development programs, and begin and/or expand hiring from inclusive pathways. The CEO commitments will drive our collective goals.

ACT Report Signatory

The Alliance became a founding signatory for The Action to Catalyze Tech Report (ACT Report), joining ongoing action-oriented convenings and planning sessions across critical DEI topics.

Alliance Maturity Model

The Alliance developed an expanded maturity model that integrates the Global Inclusion Index Survey, Alliance goals, and builds on established models to include a fifth level focused on creating industry-wide, societal, and global results.

Expanding Industry Awareness

The Alliance participated in the National Diversity and Leadership Conference, Intel® Vision 2022, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Women in Engineering Conference, increasing visibility and awareness to 13,000+ leaders.

Looking Ahead

In the coming year, the Alliance for Global Inclusion will continue to drive forward our goal of accelerating DEI outcomes across industry. Get notified about new resource guides, whitepapers and industry events by following us on social or subscribing to our newsletter.

Just as one employee can’t solve a complex technology challenge alone, one company cannot solve the industry’s diversity, equity, and inclusion challenges.

Only through collaboration can we bring about industry-wide change. When we work together, we accomplish much more at a much higher level.

“We joined the Alliance to have a larger societal impact – to hear ideas and have joint goals and commonality that we’re all working toward.”

Laura Agharkar, AVP, Global Head of Diversity, Equity and Culture, Nasdaq
